We
are often not aware which of our muscles are chronically tense.
Progressive
relaxation works through our body systematically and provides
a way to identify particular muscles and to distinguish between
sensations of tension and deep relaxation.
Deep muscle relaxation is a well established, classic means
to reduce physical tension, by alternately tensing and releasing
each major muscle group in your body.
You
will experience a wonderful feeling of warm well being that
comes with deep muscle relaxation and, as you do, you will find
that it is impossible to feel psychological stress, so at the
end you will feel alert yet completely relaxed. |
